Lowe’s 2007 Senior CLASS Softball Award Finalist (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School) selected as candidate among 19 others from around the country representing 12 different conferences for excelling on and off the field. Voted one of ten finalists from Notre Dame, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Washington, Arizona, Missouri State, Creighton, Tennessee, and DePaul Universities. Selection criteria based on personal qualities of classroom, character, community, and performance and team loyalty on the field, all of which define a complete student athlete. Won – Fan Voting with 23% of votes to 18% of votes for second place contestant. Placed Second on the All-Senior All-American First Team in overall Coaches, Media, Fan and Sponsor voting.

Athletic Accomplishments Upon Graduation
Lindsey Gerheim participation in the 2009 All Service Softball Tournament. Each year 15 women each from Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines Compete.
The Army Team took Silver; Lindsey was awarded All Tournament (5th highest batting average of 60 players); and made the All Service Team heading to Oklahoma City to compete in the ASA National Tournament.

CAMP:
3 weeks long at Ft. Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania.
Practiced twice a day and had a double header nightly against local teams such as Forry’s and Nick’s.
18 girls came to camp – 15 made the final cut.
1 other fellow MP Danielle Wills from Ft. Hood
Girls came from Korea, Germany, Alaska, Hood, , Eustis, Drum – ie: all over.
TOURNAMENT:
I played Left Field and was Lead off batter.
Hit .484 (5th highest in the tournament)
1 other fellow Ft. Campbell female: Nichole Flory (Army Band)
2 other fellow Ft. Campbell males: Shaw and Dochwaht, both men were voted All Tournament Team and Armed Forces however Shaw had to decline due to mission.
All Army team won the Silver medal (Gold went to Airforce merely due to run differential – we beat them twice)
I was 1 of 3 Army women to make All Tournament team (awarded a tournament bat) and 1 of 2 Army women to make the Armed Forces Team
(last MP was CPT Lauren Shaw in 2008 who is currently deployed in Iraq and couldn’t return this season)
OTHER:
Will now compete in the Men’s Class A and Women’s Open Slow Pitch National Championship at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK?
Practice here until Wednesday and then fly to OK

The All Services team, composed of active duty players from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, placed second in the Oklahoma City ASA National slow pitch tournament. Lindsey batted .700 for the tournament and then returned to her new assignment as Executive Officer of the 561st MP Company at Ft. Campbell, KY.
